What Is a Nurse Navigator?
A cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. At Shero, we believe no patient should have to face that uncertainty on their own.
Our Nurse Navigator is a dedicated registered nurse who serves as your personal guide and advocate through the entire care process — from the moment you receive a diagnosis to the time you begin treatment with the right specialist for you.
Working closely with Dr. Singer and the rest of your care team, your Nurse Navigator will help ensure that your experience is seamless, coordinated, and — above all — centered around you.
Your Shero Nurse Navigator will:
Provide compassionate support before, during, and after any in-house procedures
Serve as your primary point of contact for pathology results and next steps
Clearly communicate your results — whether benign or malignant — to you and your primary care provider
Help you understand your diagnosis and what to expect as treatment begins
Coordinate referrals to breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, or other specialists best suited to your needs
Ensure all prior imaging, pathology results, and relevant records are transferred promptly to your next provider
Help you schedule follow-up appointments and navigate insurance and transportation logistics
Offer emotional support and education for both you and your family
Remain an ongoing resource to answer your questions throughout this process
